William Gundry Broughton papers, 1875-1964.

Personal correspondence includes letters to parents and to Walter Scott Goll, a friend, from Cornell, Schenectady, and Pittsfield, Mass., also Goll's letters to Broughton, mostly 1919-34. Later letters discuss private airplanes, sailing, photography, and ham radio broadcasting, with related materials. Professional papers include student notes in engineering and business courses, business correspondence, office records, memoranda, design data, requisitions, and printed and mimeographed technical material, with emphasis on work as district sales manager for broadcasting equipment. Also early technical information on amateur radio and accounts. Family papers include letters to his father Henry Primm Broughton (Cornell '90) and wife Jane Tinkham Broughton from relatives and friends; letters and papers regarding People's Fuel Gas Company, Crown Point, Indiana, 1914-19, of which Broughton was president; and documents, papers, printed material, and photographs relating to his father's association with wireless pioneer Nikola Tesla in the 1890's, and to his membership in clubs of early radio operators.
